Tottenham’s summer spending spree continues as the Telegraph reports they are closing in on the signing of 21-year-old right-back Djed Spence from Middlesbrough.

The report claims Spurs will pay around £15m for the defender after weeks of negotiations.

The youngster spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, and was a vital part of the side that gained promotion to the Premier League.

Spence is now expected to be confirmed as a Tottenham player before the squad fly out to South Korea on Saturday as part of their pre-season schedule.
