Tottenham Hotspur can still end the 2024/25 campaign on a high note despite their 1-0 loss against Manchester City on Wednesday night.

Spurs have gone through a wretched luck with injuries that left the squad down to bare bones. Ange Postecoglou was forced to play with young players to fill up the numbers.

However, he is now getting some of his key players back, and Spurs can expect to finish the season strongly.

Wilson Odobert made his first start since September against City, while the likes of Destiny Udogie and Brennan Johnson also got some minutes.

Postecoglou now hopes that Dominic Solanke will rejoin the group shortly, and the news should excite the fan base.

The 27-year-old striker struggled initially since making his big-money move from AFC Bournemouth, but gradually, he started to exert his influence in the side.

He scored 11 goals and provided six assists in all competitions before he got injured.

Spurs were running out of options at one point in their attacking areas, and they were forced to sign Mathys Tel on loan from Bayern Munich.

The Tottenham boss feels that Tel has done a “massive” job already and feels the youngster needs a rest because he has played in every games since joining the side.

Postecoglou said: “It’ll be good to get Dom back in there. When he was playing for us, he was hard to stop and you can see the benefit of them having Erling in their side, so hopefully Dom’s not too far away.”

While Solanke will need some time to get back to his old rhythm, his return to the team (along with other players) will come as a massive boost for the north London club.

Tottenham are 13th in the Premier League, and they must aim to finish within the top ten. Solanke can also make a big impact in the Europa League knockout stages for Spurs.
