Man City pull level with Chelsea

Scorers: Guem-Min 90′; Hemp 27′, Fowler 40′, Shaw 69′, Coombs 78′

Manchester City banished their double cup heartbreak to draw level on points at the WSL’s summit by putting Brighton to the sword.

A cagey first half was enlivened when Jess Park played Lauren Hemp through for a tidy finish past Sophie Baggaley.

Gareth Taylor’s side extended went further ahead shortly before half-time through Hemp teeing up Mary Fowler to stab home at the far post.

Khadija Shaw added a third when she met Yui Hasegawa’s deep cross with a looping header midway through the second half.

City continued to pile on the misery through Laura Coombs sweeping home from Fowler’s cutback from the byline as they aimed for leaders Chelsea’s goal difference.

But the Seagulls notched a late consolation through Lee Geum-Min scoring against her former employers at the start of second-half added time.

Liverpool rack up hat-trick of victories

Scorers: Kiernan 41′, Kearns 50′, Haug 73′

Matt Beard’s side broke the deadlock near the end of the first half by rolling the ball into an empty net after Mackenzie Arnold’s initial fumble.

They doubled that lead shortly after the interval through a slick move as Ceri Holland teed up Missy Bo Kearns for a well-taken header.

Sophie Román Haug set the hosts on their way to their third straight WSL victory later in the second half with a good strike at the far post.

The Reds remain fifth in the table, behind Manchester United on goal difference after comfortably disposing of the Hammers.

Spurs win FA Cup semi-final dress rehearsal

Scorers: Vinberg 2′

Tottenham edged out Leicester City in a dress rehearsal for next month’s Women’s FA Cup semi-final.

The hosts took the lead after just two minutes through Matilda Vinberg prodding home Jessica Naz’s cross after a quick breakaway.

Jutta Ranjala went closest to drawing Willie Kirk’s side level with an effort that crashed back off the inside of the post.

The hosts almost snatched a second deep in added time Beth England saw her a cool finish disallowed for offside.

Spurs remain sixth in the table while the Foxes sit six points behind them in eighth.

Man Utd end winless run against Bristol City

Scorers: Naalsund 15′. 90+5′

Sent off: Napier

Manchester United followed up reaching the Women’s FA Cup semi-finals with a first WSL win in three games against Bristol City.

Lisa Naalsund opened her WSL account during the 15th minute with a superb solo effort to put Marc Skinner’s side ahead.

The hosts were reduced to 10 players as Jamie-Lee Napier saw red for a late tackle on Geyse midway through the second half.

Naalsund added a second deep in added time by firing home a hooked finish from Katie Zelem’s right-sided corner.

United consolidated their position of fourth in the table ahead of next weekend’s Manchester derby with joint-leaders City.
