Tottenham may have to use Jan Vertonghen at left-back again on Saturday, with Danny Rose ill.
Vertonghen excelled as a wing-back in the Champions League against Borussia Dortmund last week with Rose and Ben Davies both unavailable.
Mauricio Pochettino expected to have Rose back for Saturday’s trip to Burnley but that is now in doubt.
“Danny yesterday was ill,” Pochettino said at his press conference on Thursday.
“Today’s he’s better. We’ll see because it’s true that you need full energy to play.”
Rose has dropped behind Davies in the Tottenham pecking order and started just 12 Premier League games so far this season.
Davies, meanwhile, has returned to training but not soon enough to feature at Turf Moor.
