Tottenham Hotspur chairman Daniel Levy may ‘like’ to sign England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford this summer if Everton are relegated, thinks Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Spurs are in the market for a new option between the sticks, with Hugo Lloris now at the age of 36, and Pickford could be brought to Hotspur Way.

Tottenham transfer news – Jordan Pickford

In an interview with GIVEMESPORT earlier this week, journalist Ryan Taylor suggested that Everton may have to start thinking about fielding offers for their £25m goalkeeper, as he is yet to commit to signing a new contract.

The 50-time England international sees his current deal expire at the end of next season, as per Transfermarkt, and is seems unlikely that he would be willing to extend his stay at Goodison Park, given that they find themselves embroiled in a relegation battle.

A whole host of the Premier League’s top clubs are said to be considering moves for the shot-stopper, including the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea, so Tottenham will have to fend off plenty of competition if they are to lure him to Hotspur Way. (Daily Mail)

What has Michael Bridge said about Jordan Pickford?

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT about the 28-year-old’s future, Bridge seemed to suggest that Levy may try to capitalise on Everton going down to the Championship should they not turn around their form in the second half of the season.

The journalist said: “I think if Everton get relegated, Daniel Levy would like the England goalkeeper, maybe as an option. People throw names at me and I don’t think I’d rule anyone out at this stage, I think they will all be considered, so it’s one to look out for in the summer.”

Would Jordan Pickford be an upgrade on Hugo Lloris?

Lloris has been a fantastic servant to Tottenham, making a total of 442 appearances for the club, as per Transfermarkt, however more and more mistakes have started to creep into his game, and it is time Antonio Conte started thinking about a long-term replacement.

The Frenchman has made four errors leading to goals in the Premier League this season, twice as many as any other player in the top flight, and if Spurs do not replace him soon, then he is going to start costing them crucial points.

Pickford, on the other hand, has been a shining light in a very poor Everton team, averaging a match rating of 7.04, as per SofaScore, placing him fourth in the squad in terms of his average performances, while he also has a better save percentage in the past year than Spurs’ current keeper.
