Tottenham Hotspur’s FA Cup tie against Marine could be moved to Anfield

According to a report from The Sun, Tottenham Hotspur’s FA Cup tie against eighth division side Marine could be moved to Anfield from the latter’s Rossett Park home.

In what will be a historic encounter, Spurs were drawn against the eighth-division minnows for the FA Cup third round with the game scheduled to take place at Rossett Park, which is located in Tier 2 zone, meaning that as many as 2,000 fans could be permitted to attend. (h/t The Sun)

However, their home stadium houses only 3,000 fans, which could make social distancing difficult, leading to clouds of uncertainty over the possibility of holding the match there. (h/t The Sun)

And even though Marine manager Neil Young has insisted that they could safely admit 1,600 supporters, the Northern Premier League Division One North West side may be forced to look elsewhere in their local area. (h/t The Sun)

With Tranmere Rovers and Liverpool being drawn away, Prenton Park and Anfield have become possible options to host the game. Everton’s Goodison Park is off the table as the Toffees will be playing Rotherham at home. (h/t The Sun)
