Tottenham Hotspur will be looking to sign a new midfielder in the summer transfer window.
Spurs were heavily linked with a move for Chelsea midfielder Conor Gallagher in January, but a potential deal didn’t materialise.
He remains one of their major targets in the summer window. Spurs are fighting for fourth spot in the Premier League that will guarantee them Champions League qualification.
According to the Telegraph, Spurs are also making transfer plans if they do not make the top four this season.
Their transfer business will be governed by the market and whether Chelsea drop their price for Gallagher.
Tottenham have also considered Everton midfielder Amadou Onana as a potential option.
He has been a key player for the club since joining the Toffees in 2022, and journalist Dominic King described him as a ‘colossus’ last year.
Onana has made 27 appearances in the Premier League this season, scoring two goals.
Onana is also being tracked by German giants Bayern Munich. Everton paid around £33m to sign him from Lille and the Toffees would demand a fee of over £60m.
The north London club previously signed Richarlison from Everton, and they could return for Onana.
The Belgian can operate as a defensive midfielder or in the box-to-box role, and he would be a fantastic signing for Spurs.
The summer transfer window will be crucial for Spurs, irrespective of where they finish.
Everton would love to keep Onana with them, but they could be tempted to offload him if the right offer comes their way.
