Tottenham confirm signing of talented striker Alejo Véliz from Rosario Central | OneFootball

Tottenham have officially confirmed the signing of Alejo Véliz from Rosario Central, subject to international clearance and a work permit.

According to Fabrizio Romano, The Lilywhites will pay a fee of around €15m plus add-ons for the 6’2″ striker- who has signed onto a contract until 2029 at the Tottenham Hotspur stadium- where he will wear the number 36.

This signing comes after the 19-year-old had an impressive first two seasons in senior football, scoring 17 in 42 appearances in the Argentinian top flight over the last two years. Furthermore, 11 of these goals came in the most recent season, where he stood out with his instinctive attacking movement and aerial ability, with four of his 11 goals being scored with his head.

Expected to be one for the future, the young Argentine’s arrival is likely to not be linked to the future of Harry Kane, who looks increasingly likely to stay at his boyhood side this season, as Spurs recently rejected an €100m bid from Bayern Munich- who have been chasing the England captain all summer.

Véliz will be Spurs’ second signing of the day, with talented centre back Micky Van de Ven also having signed earlier onto a six-year deal with Ange Postecoglou’s new side, joining from Wolfsburg for a fee which could rise to €50m.

Ven de Ven and Véliz will join other new arrivals James Maddison, Manor Solomon, and Guglielmo Vicario at Hotspur Way this season, as the North London club look to bounce back from a disappointing eight place finish last season under their new Australian head coach.

Spurs will kick-off the new Premier League season this Sunday August 13 as they face travel to the Gtech Community Stadium to face Thomas Frank’s Brentford.
