Tottenham confirm Antonio Conte surgery after gallbladder infection

Tottenham have confirmed that Antonio Conte will be absent from the bench while he recuperates from cholecystitis.

The diagnosis comes when the gallbladder becomes infected, which often comes on suddenly, and causes severe pain.

Antonio Conte recently became unwell with severe abdominal pain. Following a diagnosis of cholecystitis, he will be undergoing surgery to remove his gallbladder today and will return following a period of recuperation. Everyone at the Club wishes him well 💙

Conte’s assistant Christian Stellini will take charge of the side while the 53-year-old recovers from surgery.

The Italian’s future remains uncertain at Tottenham, with his contract expiring in the summer and reports suggesting that no progress has made with renewal talks.
