Tottenham closing deal for Southampton goalkeeper Forster

Tottenham are closing on a deal for Southampton goalkeeper Fraser Forster.

The 34-year-old is out of contract next month and has been discussing his future with a number of clubs, but will sign for Tottenham pending a medical, says the Daily Mail.

Tottenham had been focusing on a move for West Brom's Sam Johnstone but have switched sights to 6ft7ins Forster, another homegrown England international, as they look to increase competition for Hugo Lloris.

They want to bring in a number of new signings to keep Antonio Conte happy and are prepared to rival neighbours Arsenal for the signing of Manchester City striker Gabriel Jesus.
