Tottenham chiefs are ready to intensify their clearout plans before next week's transfer deadline.
The Daily Express says Newcastle have opened talks to sign Dele Alli, who is being lined up as an alternative to Manchester United's Jesse Lingard.
Meanwhile, there is loan interest in Bryan Gil from Valencia, Real Sociedad and Nice with the £21.6m summer signing currently struggling for minutes.
Giovani Lo Celso, a £55million acquisition from Real Betis in August 2019, is also deemed transferable but his involvement with Argentina this week, complicates any departure.
Spurs would also like to add more depth at centre-forward but those plans are likely to be shelved until the summer when a move for Fiorentina's Dusan Vlahovic is anticipated.
Another defender is also on the agenda with Tottenham also open to offers for Matt Doherty and Joe Rodon.
Steven Bergwijn - a recent two-goal hero at Leicester - is now expected to stay put in north London, although Ajax could return with a second bid after seeing a £15m offer rejected.
