Tottenham manager Jose Mourinho admits his side may struggle to secure a top six finish.

Spurs chances of finishing in the top four and claiming Champions League football look dead and buried after a 3-1 home loss to Manchester United on Sunday.

Despite being up 1-0 at half time through Heung-Min Son, Spurs capitulated and lost the game to goals from Fred, Edinson Cavani and Mason Greenwood.

Asked about the top four hopes, Mourinho said, per the Evening Standard: "Difficult, difficult, difficult. Of course it's difficult. We lost and other teams won and did points.

"Even difficult for top six but there's seven matches to go, 21 points so mathematically it's possible. It's not all about the cup, we have seven matches to play in the Premier League."
