Tottenham Hotspur have asked about Arsenal target and in-demand RB Leipzig star Benjamin Sesko.
A striker is in high demand among a host of top Premier League outfits this summer and several clubs are battling it out with each other for the signature of their ideal candidate.
Leipzig’s Sesko is high on Arsenal’s transfer agenda and however, the German outfit want a fee in the region of €80m to €100m to part ways with the striker.
It has been widely suggested that the north London outfit have agreed on personal terms with the Slovenian centre forward and are in negotiations with Leipzig to find a solution.
However, Arsenal’s north London rivals Tottenham also hold an interest in Sesko and, according to German magazine Sport Bild, they have asked about him.
Tottenham struggled last season with goalscoring issues and new Spurs boss Thomas Frank wants further reinforcements beyond keeping Mathys Tel.
Timo Werner is also set to leave Spurs after the expiry of his loan spell, as Tottenham are unwilling to trigger the option in his clause to make his move permanent.
It remains to be seen whether Daniel Levy, who is known to be a hard negotiator, will meet Leipzig’s high valuation for the centre forward, if indeed Sesko can be diverted to the Tottenham
Arsenal have been looking to sign a forward for the last couple of windows, while they failed with their desperate attempt to sign Ollie Watkins in the winter and they will not want to be beaten by their London rivals to his signature.
Sesko is not the only Leipzig player that Tottenham are interested in, as they have Dutch attacking midfielder Xavi Simons on their agenda also and they are facing competition from their Premier League rivals Manchester United for his signature.
