A deal was struck late on Sunday night for the 24-year-old and although Ajax are awaiting email approval from Tottenham, the Dutch champions are eager to see the deal wrapped up within the coming days.

Bergwijn has reportedly already came to an agreement with Ajax on a five-year deal.

The former PSV man netted eight goals in all competitions during his two-and-a-half year spell in north London.
