Tottenham Hotspur target Arnaut Danjuma could be in line to head to north London as he is ‘ambitious’ and may be allowed to leave Villarreal, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

Antonio Conte was appointed as Spurs’ head coach last November and, ahead of his first full season at the helm, could be busy in the transfer market.

What’s the latest news involving Danjuma?

According to 90min, Tottenham officials were in attendance for both legs of Villarreal’s Champions League semi-final against Liverpool as they ran the rule over Danjuma.

The report suggests the £45million-rated winger, along with team-mate Pau Torres, is on Spurs’ radar ahead of the summer transfer window opening for business.

Conte’s hopes of being able to lure Danjuma to the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium may have been bolstered by the fact he has recently admitted to missing England and family members have yet to relocate since he headed to Villarreal.

Danjuma enjoyed a taste of English football by making 52 appearances for Bournemouth, where he scored 17 goals before his £21.3million switch to his current employers last August.

Villarreal are in a strong negotiating position if Spurs look to strike a deal as Danjuma’s £25,000-per-week contract has more than four years remaining.

What has Michael Bridge said about Danjuma?

Having been in contact with those close to Danjuma, Bridge understands that the 25-year-old is keen to compete at the top level of the game.

The Sky Sports reporter also feels Villarreal boss Unai Emery may be willing to offload Danjuma in order to bolster his own squad, potentially opening the door for Tottenham.

Bridge told GIVEMESPORT: “I’ve spoken to a few people in his camp recently and I just got that impression that they’re an ambitious group of people and he’s an ambitious man.

“Villarreal, obviously, do amazing things in a small, little town, but if Emery is looking to strengthen next season, they’re a club that can maybe get one out of the door to bring five in. They might look to Danjuma.”

Why is Danjuma of interest to Spurs?

Danjuma has been described as ‘a nightmare for defenders’, so it is clear that Spurs would be clinching the services of a huge talent if he were to head to Hotspur Way.

He has already scored 67 goals at club level as well, highlighting how he can be a serious danger in the final third of the pitch.

Danjuma has also shone since swapping Bournemouth for Villarreal, with the six-cap Netherlands international finding the back of the net 16 times despite some injury problems.
