And it seems there are already a number of clubs lying in wait to potentially bring him in on a loan deal ahead of the summer.

Will Lankshear attracting interest

According to a report from Alasdair Gold, a number of clubs from across England and Europe had shown interest in Lankshear during the January window.

The 18-year-old has now scored 16 goals in 15 appearances this season after netting a hat-trick on Saturday against Fleetwood Town.

It is in the Premier League 2 where he has impressed with 11 goals in 11 which has recently seen him awarded the Player of the Month award for January.

The report claims Ange Postecoglou has taken a liking to the 18-year-old and many within the club have high hopes for his future.

Opportunities for youth under Postecoglou

It has been a promising start to life at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium for Postecoglou since landing in the summer.

This has meant the Australian has not exactly been able to bring in some of the players from the U21s who have perhaps earned their chance this term.

Wayne Burnett’s side side comfortably at the top of the Premier League 2 table and there have been some fine performances to come out of their impressive term.

Jamie Donley has been handed three cameo displays from the bench, but the likes of Lankshear await their turn.

Even the likes of Dane Scarlett have found it difficult to make an impression on the Australian after he returned from his loan spell in January.

Players like Ashley Phillips have gone out on loan this season and proved their worth with Plymouth Argyle in the Championship.

But it has felt like the club’s forwards have struggled to find their feet out on loan with Scarlett and Troy Parrott two prime examples of that.

A careful decision will have to be made on Lankshear’s future ahead of the summer.
