Tottenham have agreed a £26m deal to sign Brighton midfielder Yves Bissouma, 90min understands.

Bissouma has established himself as one of the Premier League's best midfielders over the past few seasons, consistently being linked with a move away from the south coast.

As 90min reported last month, Bissouma has already informed the Seagulls of his desire to leave and there has been shortage of interest in his services.

Sources have indicated that Aston Villa have already submitted an offer for the midfielder and they have now been joined in the running by Tottenham.

90min understands that Spurs are currently in talks with Brighton over a deal with the Seagulls happy for Bissouma to negotiate personal terms too.

It is thought that the player favours a move to London, which threatens to put Villa - as well as Newcastle, who have also made an enquiry - out of the running.

Capital clubs Chelsea, Arsenal and West Ham have had discussions as well, but it is Spurs who have made the first move and they are more than confident of getting their man.

90min has learned that the clubs have agreed a £26m fee for the midfielder and a medical is expected imminently.

Bissouma is currently awaiting the outcome of a police investigation into claims of sexual assault. He, along with a man in his forties from Brighton, were arrested in October and Bissouma has since been released under investigation.
