Tottenham striker Harry Kane wants to continue playing his football in England, believes The Sun’s Tom Barclay.

Kane has been linked to Chelsea and, while Barclay is unsure if the 29-year-old would entertain a controversial move to Spurs’ London rivals, the journalist gets the impression that he wants to remain in the country if he does decide to leave next summer.

What is the latest news involving Kane?

Reports in Italy claim that Graham Potter wants to bring Kane to Chelsea and could use Romelu Lukaku, who is currently on loan at Inter Milan, as part of a potential deal.

As well as the Blues, there has also been talk about Bayern Munich being keen on the £81m-rated England international as they look to replace Robert Lewandowski.

According to 90min, Tottenham are actually growing increasingly concerned by the German club’s interest in their talisman.

Kane has made a fine start to this season, scoring six goals in seven Premier League games, which includes an all-important equaliser against Chelsea.

What has Barclay said about Kane?

While Bayern do seem to have Kane on their radar, Barclay thinks the Tottenham player’s preference is to remain in England as he looks to break Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record.

Speaking to GIVEMESPORT, The Sun journalist said: “It’d be a controversial move going to Chelsea. He’s loved by Tottenham after all the goals he’s scored there. Honestly, I’m not sure [if Kane would entertain the idea of moving to Chelsea], but I get the sense that he would rather stay in England.

“So if you’re going to do that, there are only a limited amount of clubs that you could go to. He’s hoping to break Shearer’s record.”

Who is Kane more likely to join, Chelsea or Bayern?

Having netted 189 Premier League goals, Kane certainly can aim to surpass Shearer’s record of 260.

So if he does want to leave Antonio Conte’s side but remain in England, Stamford Bridge is one of few viable destinations for him.

Even so, with Spurs and Chelsea being such fierce rivals, it is a move you just cannot see happening. Therefore, if Kane is to depart Hotspur Way, Bayern will probably be his landing spot.

There is nothing to suggest that Daniel Levy will sell the England captain next summer, though, while the chance to break Shearer’s record may also convince him to snub the Bundesliga champions if they do come knocking.
