Tottenham forward Heung Min Son might have missed his opportunity to sign for a “mega club”, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

The £72m-rated forward international has been one of the best players in the Premier League since he arrived in 2015, but his form has never been publicly picked up by any of Europe’s top clubs.

What’s the latest news involving Son?

Son arrived in English football with a growing reputation as a goalscoring winger following promising spells with Hamburg and Bayer Leverkusen.

But not even the most optimistic Spurs supporter would have envisaged the 29-year-old becoming one of the world’s top attacking players.

Having recovered from a shaky first campaign in north London, Son has gone on to score at least 18 goals in each of the last six years, with the South Korea international currently sitting on 129.

Despite establishing himself as arguably the most clinical player in the Premier League, Son’s future has never been in doubt, with Bayern Munich in 2018 the only club to register their interest in his services.

But Son stayed at the club and committed his long-term future to Tottenham last summer when he signed a new four-year contract despite the club failing to even qualify for the Europa League.

Therefore, with Son just two months away from his 30th birthday and only 25 per cent of the way through his current deal, Bridge doesn’t think there’s any chance that he’ll leave any time soon.

What did Bridge say about Son?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “You would imagine now maybe with age starting to go against him, that maybe his time to sign for a mega club or a regular Champions League club might have gone, because his best years have been at Tottenham.”

How has Son performed this season?

While Tottenham have generally been inconsistent, Son has been in blistering form throughout.

Son recently became only the fifth Spurs player ever to hit 20 goals in a Premier League campaign, and only the second to achieve the feat without scoring a penalty, which leaves him on course to outscore Harry Kane for the first time ever.

Remarkably, despite a mid-season dip, Son is just three goals behind Mohamed Salah in the race for the Golden Boot, having gone no more than four games without finding the net in the top-flight.

And in recent games, Son has taken his game to another level, scoring 12 goals in as many matches, including a hat-trick against Aston Villa, a brace against Leicester and the opening goal at Liverpool.
