Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted in their pursuit of Richarlison as he is ‘angling for a move’ away from Everton and ‘will jump at the chance’ to join a top Premier League club, according to Daily Express journalist Ryan Taylor.

Spurs have already been busy in the transfer market, with Ivan Perisic, Fraser Forster and Yves Bissouma agreeing terms in north London, but it seems head coach Antonio Conte is not done there.

What’s the latest news involving Richarlison?

It is understood that Tottenham have pulled out of the race to sign Manchester City frontman Gabriel Jesus as they have decided to prioritise welcoming Richarlison and Leeds United winger Raphinha to north London.

According to Goal, Spurs are preparing to strengthen their interest in Everton ace Richarlison by heading to Goodison Park with a big-money bid in the coming days.

The report suggests managing director Fabio Paratici, who is in charge of conducting transfers at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, is hoping to hold discussions with the 36-cap Brazil international’s agents.

But Spurs are facing competition from Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, Paris Saint-Germain and Manchester United, along with London rivals Chelsea, as they aim to conclude a deal.

Everton are seeking upwards of £50million for Richarlison, who played a key role in the Toffees’ successful bid to maintain their Premier League status last season.

What has Ryan Taylor said about Richarlison?

Taylor understands Richarlison is desperate to quit Everton in favour of joining a Premier League side challenging for regular silverware.

While he feels Raphinha is more likely to head to Hotspur Way, the journalist has not ruled out the possibility of Richarlison also ending up in north London.

Taylor told GIVEMESPORT: “I do think Richarlison is angling for a move and he will jump at the chance to join any of the big English clubs if an offer arrives.

“To be honest, I think Raphinha looks more likely than Richarlison at the moment, but that’s not to say Spurs won’t push ahead with Richarlison because he’s obviously a player they’re very keen on.”

Would signing Richarlison be good business by Spurs?

Stumping up £50million would result in Richarlison becoming the second-most expensive signing in Spurs’ entire history.

The 25-year-old clearly has talent, emphasised by the fact he has scored 53 goals in Everton colours.

But there are question marks over whether he would be willing to play second fiddle to Harry Kane, who has found the back of the net 248 times for Spurs.

With that being the case, Conte – who has been in the hot seat since his appointment last November – could be better off going for a cheaper alternative.
