Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane is now the subject of ‘internal’ transfer talks at Bayern Munich, as the Bundesliga giants potentially plot an audacious move, according to Sky Sports reporter Dharmesh Sheth.

Kane has made a fast start to the season in north London, scoring six goals in seven Premier League games, and he has caught the eye of potential suitors once again.

What is the latest news on Kane?

Bayern will make the England captain their number one target when the 2023 summer transfer window opens for business, according to journalist Florian Plettenburg.

The Sky Sport reporter added that a move may depend on whether the likes of Sadio Mane and Serge Gnabry impress but believes Bayern could afford to complete the deal regardless.

That could be because, come the end of the current campaign, Kane will have just 12 months remaining on his £200,000 per-week deal in north London.

However, the reigning German champions may now face some competition for his signature from the Premier League.

Reports in Italy have suggested that Chelsea co-owner Todd Boehly and new manager Graham Potter are both eager to land the 29-year-old next year, with Romelu Lukaku set to be used in any bid.

What has Sheth said on the situation?

Sheth understands that internal talks have been held at the Allianz Arena regarding a potential move for Kane in the future.

When asked about reports linking him with a move to Germany, the Sky Sports reporter said: “This was from when we were in Milan, we were speaking to Florian Plettenburg and Marc Behrenbeck about this and they tell me that there are talks internally at Bayern Munich about trying to sign Harry Kane.”

Could Kane leave next summer?

With Antonio Conte’s contract also set to expire at the end of the current campaign, there is a lot of uncertainty at Tottenham, which is unlikely to play in their favour when it comes to Kane’s future.

Kane has previously confessed that he still wants to win the biggest trophies and play in the biggest games before his retirement.

This came before he famously pushed for a move to Manchester City in the summer of 2021, with Spurs valuing their prized asset at £120 million.

However, with Kane on course to beat Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record, it would be surprising to see him move to the Bundesliga, which could hand Chelsea a boost.
