Tottenham forward Heung-Min Son has an “unbelievable mindset”, according to transfer insider Dean Jones.

The South Korea international has endured a difficult start to the season but turned his form around with a spectacular 13-minute hat-trick to help secure victory over Leicester on Saturday.

What happened against Leicester?

After going eight games without scoring, Son was finally dropped for the visit of the rock-bottom Foxes, with Dejan Kulusevski taking his place in the side.

It was the first time the 30-year-old had found himself on the bench in a Premier League game since April 2021, but Son’s misery didn’t last long, though.

That’s because less than 15 minutes after his introduction, the winger broke his duck with a stunning right-footed effort to put Antonio Conte’s side 4-2 ahead.

The £192,000 per-week star then repeated the feat, this time on his left-foot, producing a magnificent curling effort into the left-hand corner past a hapless Danny Ward.

Which club did David Ginola start his professional career at?

Two minutes later, Son completed his hat-trick following an inch-perfect pass from Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg, although his celebrations were briefly cut short due to VAR, with the goal eventually awarded.

It was the perfect response to being dropped by Conte, and Jones has praised Son’s mentality and mindset.

What did Jones say about Son?

He told GIVEMESPORT: “I think Son is one of the most single-minded, driven personalities in the game and he was always going to find it within him to overcome this tough time. He has an unbelievable mindset.”

Will Son start the north London derby?

Despite the game ending in a 6-2 victory, Conte will surely shuffle his pack for the trip to Arsenal on Saturday week.

Not only could the likes of Ben Davies, providing he’s fit, Emerson Royal and Yves Bissouma come into the conversation, but Conte has a major headache at the top end of the pitch.

With Harry Kane a nailed on starter, the Tottenham boss will have to decide who to sacrifice in place of Son out of Richarlison and Dejan Kulusevski.

The latter might have assisted Kane’s goal against Leicester, but neither were at their best last weekend, leaving Conte with a difficult decision on his hands.

Regardless, Son, who’s scored four goals and registered four assists in his last six appearances against the Gunners, looks a certainty to be back in the starting XI.
