Tosin Adarabioyo has revealed he was made of aware of Cole Palmer and his qualities years before the duo became team-mates at Stamford Bridge.
Palmer joined the Blues on deadline day in the summer of 2023 from Manchester City for £42.5m and has been nothing short of a revelation.
The 22-year-old has taken the Premier League by storm and was named Premier League Young Player of the Year following an incredible breakthrough campaign last season, where he scored 22 goals and provided 11 assists.
Both Tosin and Palmer came through the ranks at City, with the defender ironically making his debut against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The 27-year-old joined Chelsea in the summer on a free from neighbours Fulham and he revealed that he was made aware of Palmer’s talent by Raheem Sterling long before they became team-mates.

“I remember having a conversation with Raz [Sterling] years ago, whilst Raz was still at City, and we were speaking obviously about Phil [Foden] and all the other younger players, and then he said, Cole [Palmer], he said Cole is the truth,” he told Sky Sports.
“And I was like, wow! I was like, really, he was like is, yeah, that kid in around the box is a different level.”
Whilst Sterling’s career at Stamford Bridge appears to be over after two seasons at the club, Palmer’s is going from strength to strength.
The England international has 12 goals and six assists in 18 league games this season and he remains on course for another 20 goal season in the league.

Maresca has spoken about how he’s very proud to be working with Palmer, and it must be such a joy for his team-mates to be in the same side as him.
Both Tosin and Palmer are likely to start on Monday night against Ipswich as the Blues look to round out 2024 with a win, which would momentarily lift them into second in the league.
