The 2024 season for Toronto FC was one of contrasts. The team began with promise, showing a strong level of play, but their form gradually declined. Unfortunately, this inconsistency led to another year without a playoff appearance, leaving fans yearning for change.
Individually, several players stood out, displaying exceptional skill and contributing memorable moments. However, Toronto FC struggled to find cohesion as a team. This lack of unity proved costly, as collective success remained elusive despite flashes of brilliance throughout the season.
As the team reviewed their highlights, Toronto FC showcased some of the season's finest goals. Lorenzo Insigne’s strike against New England Revolution early in the season stood out as a testament to his quality and precision. Similarly, Prince Owusu, the German forward, delivered remarkable goals before departing the club in search of new opportunities.
One of the most celebrated goals of the season came from Federico Bernardeschi, who scored an incredible long-range effort against FC Dallas. His powerful strike into the top corner was a moment of pure magic and was widely regarded as the goal of the season.
While these highlights were a testament to individual skill, Toronto’s overall lack of attacking efficiency was a key factor in their struggles. Missed opportunities in crucial matches proved costly, underscoring the need for improvement in finishing.
As 2025 begins, Toronto FC faces significant questions. The club has yet to announce their new head coach, raising concerns about preparation for the upcoming season. With preseason fast approaching, several players have begun individual training, but the absence of a head coach leaves the team without a clear tactical direction.
Toronto FC must act quickly to appoint a leader capable of bringing cohesion and vision to the squad. Fans and players alike are eager to see the team turn the page and build toward a more successful campaign in 2025.
