Roma got back to winning ways on Thursday after winning 1-0 over Torino, thanks to a decisive first half goal from Paulo Dybala.
The win snapped the Giallorossi’s two-game losing streak and handed the Granata their fourth defeat of the season. After the match, Toro defender Mërgim Vojvoda weighed in on his team’s performance—lamenting their performance in the first half.
“We lacked personality and the ability to play with the ball—particularly in the first half,” he told DAZN.
“Roma played well; they moved effectively and created numerical superiority. We struggled to shift properly and were positioned too deep, making it difficult to build out from the back and create chances.”
Vojvoda also conceded his side have missed influential striker Duvan Zapata, who suffered a season-ending knee injury earlier this month.
“We know Duvan is an important player, but it’s the group that wins games. We need to take more responsibility and improve,” admitted the defender.
“We can’t use this as an excuse; we must improve and push forward. We started the season well, but it’s a long campaign. Only by playing as a team can we return to our form at the beginning of the season.”
