Torino are set to make a surprise addition in the closing hours of the January transfer window, as full-back Adam Massina is set to join on loan from Udinese according to recent reports.

It is believed that a deal for Mesina will be a straight loan until the end of the season. Meanwhile, current Toro full-back Brandon Soppy is in negotiations to join 2. Bundesliga side Schalke, so Mesina’s arrival would be as a direct replacement.

Mesina is due to arrive in Turin later on Wednesday evening to complete his medical and sign the necessary documents before his move is made official.

This is not the first time that Torino have looked at Masina, as they had made an attempt to sign him permanently in 2019, just over a year into his spell in the Premier League with Watford.

Instead, Masina stayed in Hertfordshire until the end of the 2021-22 season, before returning to Serie A to join Udinese in the summer of 2022.
