There is disagreement between Torino and Inter Milan regarding the structure of a deal for young striker Francesco Pio Esposito.
This according to today’s print edition of Turin-based newspaper Tuttosport, via FCInterNews. The newspaper note that Cagliari and Sampdoria are also keen on signing Pio Esposito.
Torino are keen to sign teenage striker Pio Esposito from Inter this summer.
The Granata see the 18-year-old as having the ideal profile to be the understudy for veteran Colombian international Duvan Zapata for next season.
Therefore, there have been talks between Inter and Torino regarding Pio Esposito over the past few days.
The Granata have been pushing for a deal. However, Tuttosport notes, there is some disagreement between the clubs regarding the structure of a dealk.
Torino’s aim is to sign Pio Esposito on an initial season-long loan deal. They would aim to have a purchase option on the young striker.
On the other hand, Inter want to sell the 18-year-old on a permanent basis – but include a buyback option as they had done in Giovanni Fabbian’s move to Bologna last summer.
Therefore, Tuttosport report, at the moment the Nerazzurri and the Granata are struggling to make progress in talks for Pio Esposito.
If the Granata were to offload striker Pietro Pellegri, that could unlock a move for Pio Esposito, however.
In the meantime, Tuttosport report, Cagliari and Sampdoria are also waiting to see how Torino’s talks with Inter go. They are also targeting the teenage striker.
However, in the Blucerchiati’s case they would have the disadvantage of not being able to offer Pio Esposito Serie A football.
Pio Esposito got his first experience in senior football last season.
The 18-year-old came through the youth ranks at Inter. He had starred for the Primavera or Under-19 team in the season prior to last.
Pio Esposito may have only scored three goals for Spezia last campaign.
However, the teenage striker impressed with his overall performances for the Ligurian side.
The sense is that, after a positive first campaign in senior football spent in Serie B, Pio Esposito would be ready to try his hand in the top flight.
