Paris Saint-Germain must utilize the remaining days of the summer transfer window to strengthen their defense. With Milan Skriniar sidelined due to injury for an extended period, the capital club urgently needs a new center-back.

Securing January deals for Dayot Upamecano, Diego Llorente, Leny Yoro, Maxence Lacroix, and Jean-Clair Todibo poses a challenge for PSG. The complexity of these transactions arises from either the perceived high prices or the players being considered untransferable.

As a result, the French giants are looking at economically shrewd targets to bolster their backline. Foot Mercato reports that Torino FC’s Alessandro Buongiorno is one of the targets PSG has on their list.

In recent days, PSG Luis Campos has initiated contact with Davide Vagnati, the sporting director of the Serie A club. However, Urbano Cairo, the president of the Italian club, has declined to pursue the matter, considering Buongiorno to be the symbolic figure of the team.

Despite this, PSG is not backing down and will continue to assess the feasibility of a winter deal. Torino is holding out for at least €35 million to part ways with its talented player.

The Parisians will also need to persuade the player, who openly expresses his love and strong connection to Torino, the club where he took his first steps in football at age six.

Adding to the challenge, PSG faces competition from AC Milan, Chelsea, Juventus, and Inter Milan in pursuing the 24-year-old defender.
