Torino are reportedly closing in on a deal to sign 26-year-old left-wing-back Borna Sosa from Ajax, according to Thursday’s reports.
Paolo Vanoli’s top priority in the transfer market is to add a new wide man to his ranks, preferably one who is also comfortable in defence, after losing Ricardo Rodriguez upon the expiry of his contract earlier this summer.
Sosa joined Ajax last summer after a five-year spell in the Bundesliga with VfB Stuttgart. He still has four years remaining on his current contract, which runs until the summer of 2028.
Though a regular in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart, the Croatia international struggled to cement his place in the Ajax starting line-up after his move, and only featured for 26 minutes across the last nine Eredivisie matches of the 2023-24 season.
He is expected to leave the Netherlands this summer, and Gianluca Di Marzio claims that Torino are close to striking an agreement with the Dutch giants.
A specific price tag has not been specified, but it is likely that Sosa leaves for a similar fee to the one that Ajax paid last summer, which was reported to be €8m.
