The history of football is full of players with an extraordinary talent that, for one reason or another, have been lost along the way having failed to live up to expectations. One player who sums up such a story is Adriano.
There was a moment, between 2004 and 2006, when the Brazilian, who played for Parma and Inter, was probably the best footballer in the world. He was simply the Emperor but his form slowly dipped and he failed to reach his previous heights.
However, when he was at the top of his game, he was unstoppable. Here, we’re going to re-live his greatest goals.
This goal perfectly shows just how strong a player Adriano was. No player has shown such physicality in Serie A.
How hard does he it this?!
He makes this strike look so easy. Coolness personified.
Adriano could really leather a football, which makes this delightful cheap all the sweeter to witness.
So direct. Adriano only has one thing on his mind: get to the goal as quickly as possible and stick the ball in the net.
Roberto Carlos-esque. No goalkeeper is getting anywhere near that.
Another ferocious hit. An unbelievable striker of a football.
Any angle, it’s a goal. That drag to the left to get across his man. Perfection.
From being surrounded by three opponents to the ball hitting the net five seconds later. Adriano could work his way out of the trickiest of spots.
What. A. Run.
