Kylian Mbappé stretched his lead at the top of the scoring charts on a weekend when the leading contenders all failed to find the net.

It was a bittersweet Round 33 for Mbappé who netted his 23rd goal of the campaign but was on the receiving end of a 3-1 defeat as Lorient shocked leaders Paris Saint-Germain.

Mbappé scored the cheekiest goal of the round when he took advantage of a mistake by Lorient goalkeeper Yvon Mvogo to score his easiest goal of the season.

Alexis Sanchez was on target for Marseille in their 2-1 win over Auxerre to take his tally to 13 goals for the season.

The Chilean fired the crucial winner for OM to keep their title hopes alive and cement their top three hopes.

Gouiri back on song

Amine Gouri scored for the 11th time this season in Rennes' 4-2 come-from-behind win over Angers.

Gouiri's neat near-post flick set Rennes on their way and kept alive their hopes of European qualification.

Arnaud Nordin produced a wonderful double as Montpellier put Monaco to the sword at the Stade Louis II.

Nordin's first was a thing of beauty as he picked up the ball and weaved past three Monaco defenders before producing a fine low finish past Alexander Nubel.

His second goal was a delightful finish from the edge of the area to put the game beyond all doubt.

Paris Saint-Germain will be hoping Mbappé can help spark a reaction when they head to Troyes in Round 34. LOSC striker Jonathan David has some ground to make up on Mbappé when he travels to face Folarin Balogun's Reims.

Meanwhile, Lyon's 20-goal striker Alexandre Lacazette will be back in action when Montpellier head to the Groupama Stadium.
