Here are the top goal-scorers in the history of the iconic Champions League tournament, with icons from Bayern Munich, Barcelona and Real Madrid featuring.

5) Raul – 71 goals

Before the Ronaldo and Messi era got underway, Raul was the man that helped the UEFA Champions League top scorer record for years.

He was influential in 3 of Los Blancos’ 14 Champions League wins, with the Spanish forward finishing top goal scorer in the 99/00 campaign.

Raul would top off the monumental campaign in Real Madrid’s 3-0 victory over Valencia, with the forward scoring their third and final goal.

With such an impressive haul, the iconic Spanish player makes it to the Top 5 UEFA Champions League goal scorers list of all time.

4) Robert Lewandowski – 86 goals

One of the world’s best strikers, Robert Lewandowski has been an influential striker in European football ever since he made the switch from Lech Poznan to Borussia Dortmund.

Lewandowski was pivotal in Dortmund’s dream Champions League run under Jurgen Klopp during the 2012/13 season, which saw his side reach the final, where they fell just short to German rivals Bayern Munich.

His most memorable performance in this campaign was his incredible four goals against Real Madrid.  However, he would soon get his first taste of Champions League glory as he helped Bayern Munich to another UCL trophy in the 2019/20 season after defeating Paris St. German.

Lewandowksi would be the pick of the bunch, rounding off the tournament as the competition’s top goal scorer and being influential in Bayern’s 8-2 battering of Barcelona at the Nou Camp.

Real Madrid’s talisman is looking to capture his first-ever Ballon d’Or after having an unbelievable season with Los Blancos, guiding them to their historic 14th Champions League after beating Liverpool in Paris.

Benzema is a 5x UEFA Champions League Winner and recently finished top scorer in the latest campaign scoring 15 goals in the competition, which included a decisive winner in their incredible comeback against Manchester City and a vital goal against reigning champions at the time, Chelsea.

Benzema’s leadership influenced Real Madrid to achieve the infamous treble this season in what was a season to remember for Madrid’s marksman, and over his career in the UCL, he has managed to grab enough strikes to put himself in the tournament’s top 5 of all time.

2) Lionel Messi – 125 goals

Argentina’s magician will go down as history in the debate of the best player of all time alongside Cristiano Ronaldo.

Messi is a 6x Balon d’Or winner winning numerous titles during his time at Barcelona and Paris St. Germain.

In 3 out of the 4 Champions League wins that he has under his belt, Messi finished top goalscorer of the tournament during the 08/09, 10/11 and 14/15 campaigns.

Ronaldo is considered one of the great, if not the greatest, players to ever step on the football pitch. He is a 5x Balon d’Or Winner and has endless accolades in his career.

Ronaldo’s team accomplishments delve from his contribution, with his Balon d’Or victories being partly influenced by his Champions League performances as well as his league performances.

Ronaldo has won 5 Champions Leagues in his career, with three of them coming back to back to back as he led the La Decima era of Real Madrid, where he finished top goalscorer in the tournament for three consecutive years, tallying 10 or more goals in each.

With 141 goals thus far in the tournament, it’s no wonder that he has managed to top the top 5 UEFA Champions League goal scorers list!
