With the highly anticipated release of EA FC25 just around the corner, much of the initial buzz is centred around Ultimate Team. However, EA has significantly enhanced Career Mode this year, introducing deeper features such as player roles, similar to Football Manager.

For those who purchased the Ultimate Edition, the game becomes available this Friday. To help you dive in, we’ve rounded up five exciting teams you might want to consider for your first Career Mode save.

Malaga – Segunda Division

Malaga have found themselves back into the game following their promotion back to the second division in Spain. The club have been on consistent downhill spiral since their famous run in the Champions League in 2012/13. In 2020 they had to lay off the entire first team to save the club from oblivion and in 2023 they dropped to the third division for the first time since 1998. Career Mode players absolutely love rescuing fallen giants and Malaga are a perfect example of that. Can you find your own Isco, Joaquin and Roque Santa Cruz and bring the glory days back to Malaga?

NAC Breda – Eredivisie

NAC Breda from the Netherlands find themselves back into the game for the first time since FIFA 19. They haven’t won the top division for over 100 years, and haven’t won a major trophy since 1973. If that isn’t enough for you, their away shirt is extremely nice and would probably be worth doing this save for that reason alone.

Bromley – Sky Bet League Two

Bromley have been promoted to the English fourth division for the first time in their history and will be in the game for the first time as well. Taking a smaller, lesser-known club like Bromley and transforming it into a powerhouse is always a career mode players favourite type of save. You’ll face tough competition from better-funded teams, making victories even sweeter as you overcome the odds as the underdog.

Deportivo de La Coruña – Segunda Division

Deportivo have found themselves back in the game for the first time since FIFA 20 following their promotion back to the Spanish second tier. These guys are a real fallen giant. They won the La Liga back in 2000 in an incredible story overcoming the big two and also made it to the Champions League semi-finals as recently as 2004. After four seasons in the third tier Deportivo are back and are a perfect team to rebuild.

Caen – Ligue 2

The French second tier side were bought by none other than Kylian Mbappe this summer who decided to become the majority shareholder. Caen have never been a powerhouse in France with their best position being fifth in Ligue 1 in 1992 but can you take Kylian Mbappé’s club to the Champions League and play against him?
