Cascarino wasn't short of praise for the Whites, labelling them the team to beat in the Championship.
Tony Cascarino believes Leeds United are currently the team to beat despite the fact Sunderland are still at the top of the Championship table and Sheffield United are knocking on the door.
He made these comments on talkSPORT after Saturday's round of second-tier games.
Leeds were one of two teams in the top four to pick up a positive result last weekend, with the Black Cats being held to a 0-0 draw at Queens Park Rangers.
Wilson Isidor had a good chance at Loftus Road in the opening 45 and Dan Neil also hit the post in the first half, which would have given them some encouragement for the second 45.
But they were unable to make the breakthrough against an impressive QPR side and even had Jobe Bellingham sent off.
Considering their man disadvantage, the Wearside outfit's point at Loftus Road wasn't a terrible outcome for them in the end, but they would have been frustrated not to have come away from the English capital with a win.
Burnley, meanwhile, were beaten 1-0 at Millwall, with Jake Cooper's header from Femi Azeez's cross proving to be the difference between the two sides on Saturday afternoon.
The Clarets had plenty of possession, but they were unable to make the most of it in the end and their loss has seen them slip down to fourth place, behind Leeds and Sheffield United.
The Blades are another side that deserve to be mentioned, because they started the season with a two-point deduction, but didn't let that affect them in their quest to compete at the top end of the Championship table.
At this point, it's unclear who will go on and secure a top-two place, with so much football left to be played until the 2024/25 campaign ends.
However, some strong candidates are emerging for automatic promotion and if teams can keep themselves in the promotion mix in the coming months, it's more and more likely that they will have a chance of securing a step up to the Premier League.
The Black Cats may be at the top of the table at this stage - and they may have the depth in a number of areas to sustain their success but Cascarino believes Leeds are the team to beat.
Speaking on talkSPORT (3/11; 8:47am), he said (quotes via MOT Leeds News): "It’s always hard, Leeds I would think would be quite well placed, they sold a number of players in the summer and brought in new ones, Leeds are the team to beat.
Largie Ramazani may be out for the time being, but they still have other talented attackers who can make a real difference for them, like Dan James did last weekend.
Willy Gnonto is also a brilliant player to have at this level - and it may only be a matter of time before he gets himself on the scoresheet regularly.
Registering two goals and four assists in the league already this season, he is the one to watch in this team, though they have quality all over the year.
New signing Ao Tanaka is impressing many and he's proved to be a shrewd addition in the middle of the park.
