Trip to Vienna area on Wednesday

A month later than scheduled, we (and the other Austrian European qualifiers) are to contest the second round of the UNIQA ÖFB Cup. We were drawn against Viktoria Vienna from the East Regional League in the second round - a side whose biggest star is undoubtedly in the dugout.

The Austrian national team's record goalscorer Toni Polster has been in charge of the Viennese outfit for over 10 years - in addition to an initial spell from 2011 to June 2013. The former footballer fame does not end there, as the club president is one of our own: Martin Hinteregger. Musician Christopher Seiler is also a marketing ambassador for the club.

Let's take a look on the pitch though. In the first round of the cup, Polster's boys saw off DSV Leoben, current leaders of the central regional league, 2-1 after extra-time. The side from the Austrian capital have not had such a successful league campaign of their own so far, however, and are second to last with four points from seven matches.

The fact is that our opponents have nothing to lose and can throw everything into the hope of a giant-killing. We therefore have to be alert on Wednesday - and we want a big win to boost our confidence. The clash against Viktoria Vienna will be hosted at the Stadion Alte Au in Stockerau for infrastructural reasons. The manner of the cup is that a lot can happen in this competition. We are on alert and will prepare professionally and in great detail. We respect our cup opponents and will do everything to make the next round.
