Toni Kroos doesn’t believe Real Madrid would’ve wanted Lionel Messi, if the Barcelona captain had left the Camp Nou this summer.
Messi shocked the football world last week when he sent an infamous ‘burofax’ to register his intention to leave Barça.
However, the saga ended with the 33-year-old staying at the club he has represented for over 20 years, despite his unhappiness at the the way the club is being run.
A transfer to Barça’s rivals Real was never in the offing, and Kroos believes it would never have been logistically possible.
When asked about Blick about a potential move to the Spanish capital for Messi, Kroos laughed and said: “I don’t think so.
“I don’t think the player would be open to coming to Real Madrid.
“But that’s probably mutual.
“So, I don’t think that could happen.”
Real took advantage of the chaos at Messi’s current club to win the LaLiga title in 2019-20, Kroos’ second championship win while at the club.
