Italy kick off their U21 Euro campaign on Thursday, and one man is pulling the strings.

Milan midfielder Sandro Tonali has had an effortless display of skill in the first half, proving why he’s worth big bucks.

The 23-year-old captain is on the brink of joining Newcastle, and if you’re a Magpies fan, you’ll love what he’s done so far against France.

Tonali was inch-perfect with his passing across the opening half, providing every free kick and corner to ridiculous measurement. Then a curling shot from range only fell short by a foot or so.

In fact, it was his long ball that found Pietro Pellegri’s head for the equaliser just before the break.

If he does complete his move to England (for a reported €80M), Newcastle will have two long-range specialists on their hands in Tonali and Bruno Guimarães. Kieran Trippier will also be facing some competition.
