There has been plenty of speculation and noise surrounding Conway in recent weeks - and we have rounded up the latest news on his situation.

Bristol City have made a positive start to the summer window, adding more firepower to their attack.

The Robins have signed Fally Mayulu, Sinclair Armstrong and Yu Hirakawa (loan) during this window - and considering they need to improve their attack - they certainly seem to be strengthening in the right areas.

They now have a fairly strong squad, but there may be more work to be done before the window closes during the latter stages of next month.

Any key players who depart will need to be replaced - and Tommy Conway may be the man who's closest to securing an exit from Ashton Gate - considering his current situation.

The striker was a real asset for City last term and could be a key first-teamer again during the upcoming campaign, but it's not guaranteed that he will remain at Liam Manning's side beyond the end of the current window.

Below, we take a look at some of the latest news on the striker and his situation.

Manager Manning, speaking to BBC Radio Bristol, has confirmed that the striker is keen to leave Ashton Gate.

And this could potentially happen in the coming weeks, with the Robins' boss keen to offload him, but the ex-Oxford United boss has also revealed that no side has placed a formal bid for him yet.

He said: "For me, I will always protect the group as we prepare to go into another relentlessly difficult season, we need people who are fully focused on us.

"I had a chat with Tommy and explained that to him. He's working hard with the [under] 21s and making sure he's getting his programmes right and he's getting everything he needs.

"For me, my energy, and the staff's energy, needs to go into the team that are going to be fighting for the club week in, week out. "He's indicated he wants to leave so the sooner the better, I think, for everyone involved.

"As it stands, we've had no offers on the table so we'll have to see what happens."

The Scotland international isn't short of interest, with Scottish Premiership giants Celtic and Rangers both thought to have taken an interest in him, as well as Wolves and Leicester City.

With Brendan Rodgers' side yet to get a deal over the line for Adam Idah, Conway could be a good addition for them, and Leicester could benefit from adding some more attacking firepower.

Manning went on to clarify the relationship that he and Conway currently have - with any claims that the pair have fallen out being put to bed.

He told BBC Radio Bristol: "I know there was a lot of noise around me and Tommy falling out but that's not the case at all - we've been getting on fine.

"I've had numerous chats with him last season going into his final year. The club, for me, made a fantastic offer to him but it was turned down. It wasn't negotiated.

"Then he gave the indication he wants to move on, he doesn't want to re-sign and stay."

With the pair not falling out, that could potentially re-open the door for Conway to establish himself as a vital first-teamer again if he doesn't leave this summer.

However, he may have to persuade Manning that he's committed to the cause following his reluctance to put pen to paper on fresh terms.

Tommy Conway's contract situation

As mentioned by Manning above, Conway's contract at Ashton Gate expires next summer.

When his contract extension was announced back in 2022, the Robins didn't mention a potential extension option in his deal.

And with that, it looks as though the player will be free to leave next summer when his current terms come to an end.

The Robins' owner Steve Lansdown (pictured above) is reportedly keen for a solution to this situation to be found as quickly as possible due to his contract situation.
