“Tomáš is a striker that poses a real threat on goal, coupled with plenty of pace,” said Roland Virkus, Borussia sporting director. “He’s still young but has been playing professionally for several years and broke into the Czech Republic national team this season. He’s a very ambitious player and really wanted to join Borussia.”

Tomáš Čvančara said,“It’s great to be here. BORUSSIA-PARK is a fantastic stadium. I can’t wait to join training, to play here and score goals.”

He was then loaned to SFC Opava for the second half of the season, where he featured in 10 first-division games. Following the end of his loan spell, he returned to his parent club once more. The 22-year-old featured in 14 league games in the first half of the 2021/22 season (5 goals), two Europa League qualifiers, five UEFA Conference League games (3 goals), two Conference League qualifiers (1 goal) and one cup match.
