Cannon bagged four times for Stoke in a 6-1 thrashing of Portsmouth on Wednesday
Tom Cannon got off the mark for Stoke City in spectacular style against Portsmouth on Wednesday as he scored four times to help the Potters to a vital 6-1 win at the bet365 Stadium.
Cannon had endured a rocky start with Stoke since his summer loan move from Leicester City, but burst into life against Pompey with four strikes in 38 minutes to help Narcis Pelach to his first win as Potters head-coach.
The 21-year-old began the evening's scoring as he netted his first goal for the club with a free-kick that crept past Will Norris in the 13th minute, then followed that up with a fine first-time strike to make it 2-1 just before half-time.
He soon bagged a penalty that he had won just minutes after the restart, and then scored another well-taken finish not long after to cap off a dream night in the Potteries.
Cannon will now hope to kick on in red and white, as a lot of Stoke's hopes this season hinge on his form in front of goal, and with the help of Capology, Football League World has decided to take a look at his estimated weekly wage at Stoke, and how that compares to his teammates.
It must be taken into consideration that the data provided by Capology are estimations and not official figures.
The full financial details are unclear over the 21-year-old's loan move from the Foxes, but he is estimated to be earning £8,000-a-week while with the Potters this season, according to Capology.
Stoke may not be paying his full wages, but are likely to be contributing a large portion of it for the campaign, given they won the race for his signature ahead of multiple other Championship clubs in August.
Those weekly earnings mean that he is set to earn an estimated £416,000 across the season with Stoke, which equates to £1.66m across the entirety of his Leicester deal, provided he sees it out until 2028 on his current wage.
According to Capology's estimates, Cannon is the joint-eighth highest earner at Stoke of all the current players in their squad, which seems low considering his potential importance to the team throughout the rest of the campaign.
The Potters' highest earner is club captain Ben Gibson, who earns an estimated £35,000 per week, while fellow summer signing Sam Gallagher and centre-back Ben Wilmot follow behind him on £25,000 p/w and £20,000 p/w respectively, according to Capology.
Gallagher is Stoke's highest earning striker, as a result, while Cannon is surprisingly earning the same amount as fellow frontman Niall Ennis, who has been outcasted from the squad since Pelach's arrival and has had a tough spell in the Potteries since his January arrival.
Young striker Emre Tezgel, meanwhile, earns a lot less than Cannon on an estimated £1,500 p/w, but that should not come as a shock given his age and relative impact on the Stoke team compared to the Leicester loanee.
