Todd Boehly has been at every Chelsea game in recent weeks, and since his bid for the club has got serious, the cameras have been picking him out every time.

He’s not had a great run as a spectator of interest. He saw the Blues lose 4-2 to Arsenal, saw them beaten handily by Real Madrid in the Champions League, then capped that off by watching them throw away a two goal against Wolves too.

Sunday’s win over Watford – earned in the last minute – was the first time Boehly has seen a Blues success, although that hasn’t hurt his excitement about owning the club.

The Evening Standard report today that despite those setbacks, he remains “utterly enthused by the spectacle and the atmosphere.”

That’s what we like to hear. He’s got to understand that football is as much about the disappointments and defeats as it is the glory and the victories.

In the Premier League especially, every fixture is a banana skin, and whether you’re up against Watford, Wolves or even Arsenal, anything can happen.
