Daniel Maldini is just an announcement away from officially joining Monza, who reached an agreement with Milan last night. While the transfer fee isn’t the highest, the Rossoneri will have a significant future resale clause.

Maldini spent the second half of last season on loan at Monza and impressed, finding the back of the net four times. Talks have been ongoing between Adriano Galliani’s side and Milan since the start of the summer and it seems a deal is now in place.

According to TuttoMercatoWeb, Monza will pay €3-4m to Milan and there will also be a 50% resale clause in favour of the Rossoneri. The latter is ultimately what unlocked the transfer as the initial starting price for the attacking midfielder was higher.

Maldini impressed during the friendly against Rapid Wien and although he travelled with the team to the US yesterday, he will now seemingly return to Italy. The move is far from a surprise, but some still would have liked to see the 22-year-old during the friendlies in the States.

It looks like Lazar Samardzic could be one of Milan’s reinforcements this summer and he would thus be the starting No.10 in Paulo Fonseca’s eleven.
