Earlier on Wednesday, SportBILD reported that Bayern Munich boss Hansi Flick and Manchester City’s Leroy Sané shared a 30-minute chat in recent weeks.

This development has apparently closed the door to Timo Werner’s arrival. This is according to reliable Bayern insider Christian Falk, who also claims that Werner will not take his talents to another club in Germany.

However, it’s very possible that Werner could join Liverpool as the Leipzig star and Reds boss Jürgen Klopp hold one another in very high regard.

There has been a widely-reported issue between whether Sané or Werner would be the better big-money signing for Bayern this summer.

Hasan Salihamidžić has been a huge fan of Sané from the start while Flick, up until now, has kept his foot down and has urged the club to sign Werner this summer.

It appears that the only question now is whether Werner will continue to be the man at Leipzig or if he will take a huge risk and join Liverpool.

So far this season, the 29-time Germany international has bagged 27 goals and dished out 12 assists in 36 matches in all competitions – a goal contribution every 72.6 minutes.
