Timo Werner has offered his thoughts to Kai Havertz over his Chelsea future this summer.
Havertz is the subject of interest from Real Madrid, Arsenal and other clubs, with the 23-year-old open to a move to the Bernabeu.
Chelsea currently hold a valuation of £70 million for the Germany international, with Real Madrid and interested suitors put off by the high valuation, believing it could be much lower given Havertz is ready to leave Stamford Bridge.
Real Madrid value Havertz at around £50 million following Chelsea’s ultimatum to the attacker, to either extend his current deal beyond June 2025 or leave.
Havertz’s German compatriot Timo Werner ended a two-year spell at Chelsea last summer to re-join RB Leipzig, a spell which saw the attacker struggle to find consistent form in front of goal.
Werner is flourishing again back in the Bundesliga and while on international duty with Germany this month, he was quizzed on Havertz’s future in west London.
“A move to another club where you might play internationally is better, of course, because you want to play Champions League every year.”
Havertz could be part of the squad overhaul this summer as new head coach Mauricio Pochettino looks to trim the bloated squad ahead of pre-season. Chelsea also need to balance the books following their lavish £600 million transfer spend in the last two transfer windows.
Fellow attackers Christian Pulisic, Hakim Ziyech, Callum Hudson-Odoi, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Romelu Lukaku all face uncertain futures, with Christopher Nkunku set to join from Leipzig after a pre-agreement was struck at the end of last year.
