Timo Werner will leave Chelsea on a permanent deal this summer, with RB Leipzig set to buy back the attacker.

Florian Plettenberg, usually the top man man for transfer stories in the Bundesliga, reported that it’s “almost a done deal”.

He calls it a massive deal for Leipzig and the Bundesliga. His initial Tweet for an hour claimed that it will be a loan deal with an option to buy, but things have developed quickly since then.

Fabrizio Romano missed out on the initial story, but has swooped in half an hour later to claim that it will in fact be a permanent deal. It sounds like this has been some time in the making – Romano writes that personal terms have been agreed for a month already.
