Despite being sent off for two yellow cards during the Blades’ defeat to Millwall on Tuesday night, the midfielder has generally impressed during his time at Bramall Lane.

The midfielder has scored three goals and provided two assists in eight league games for Slavisa Jokanovic’s side.

Did these 25 Sheffield United transfers actually happen?

That has led to some speculation that Wolves could take up the option that they have in the loan deal, to recall Gibbd-White in January.

Now however, it seems it may be some time yet before we find out whether or not the Premier League club will do that.

According to this latest update, Wolves will only make a decision over whether or not to recall Gibbs-White at Christmas, just before they have the chance to do so.

It is thought that a decision over whether or not to recall the 21-year-old, will also depend on both Wolves’ form at the time, and the midfield options fit and available to manager Bruno Lage.

Wolves are currently tenth in the Premier League table, with 12 points from eight games so far, having won each of their last three matches.

The Verdict

It looks as though it could be a nervy few weeks for Sheffield United with regards to Gibbs-White.

The midfielder has certainly made a difference since arriving at Bramall Lane, so it would be a blow to lose him midway through the campaign.

However, that will ultimately be Wolves’ decision, and given his form, you could understand it if they were to recall him, especially considering he is capable of making an impact in the Premier League.

With that in mind, it could be sensible for Sheffield United to start looking at other options they could bring in come January, as potential replacements for Gibbs-White.
