Time is now the key factor for Inter in their pursuit of Paulo Dybala on a free transfer, and if they don’t find a way to get things moving soon they will miss out on him.

This according to today’s print edition of Milan-based newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport, who report that Nerazzurri CEO Beppe Marotta has told the 28-year-old and his representatives that they are free to listen to offers as Inter scramble to make room for him.

The shock return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea has been the major reason why Inter’s pursuit of Dybala, which at one point had looked all but wrapped up, has become altogether unsettled and uncertain.

The will to sign the Argentine is still there, but with Lukaku’s arrival there are now six senior forwards in the team, seven counting Andrea Pinamonti, and a move cannot go forward before some exits occur.

Alexis Sanchez is all but certain to leave, but a move for Dybala would be difficult if neither of Edin Dzeko or Joaquin Correa are sold first, as this would mean going into the upcoming season with five senior forwards competing for two starting spots.

Now the Nerazzurri are left thinking about how they want to play the situation with the clock ticking, and on Monday Marotta updated Dybala’s agent Antun on the situation yet again.

The CEO has requested that should any other offers come in for the Argentine he be informed of them, but if the player wants to look elsewhere to find certainty regarding his future, Inter will not stop him.
