From the fiercely contested and thrilling Serie A clashes to the triumph in the Champions League final in Manchester, there have been numerous examples featuring shining stars from the Rossoneri. The season follows the historic one culminating in the aforementioned 2003 Manchester Final, and on 14 March 2004, the top-flight Italian calendar offered another Juventus v AC Milan clash that could provide a decisive boost to Mister Ancelotti's team's season. The Rossoneri indeed arrived in Turin sitting at the top of the league table, closely followed by Roma and Juventus. The stakes are high, especially given Roma's stumble against Reggina in the early match on Matchday 25 of the Serie A. All the ingredients for a spectacular and emotionally charged match are in place.

AC Milan started strongly and established themselves in an offensive stance from the outset. However, to break the deadlock, it takes a moment of brilliance from two champions in the 25': Seedorf shakes off his marker and delivers a pinpoint cross into the centre of the box, where Shevchenko nods it into the corner for the 1-0 lead. The Rossoneri continue to press and come close to doubling their lead with Inzaghi around the half-time mark, but it's Seedorf who delivers the decisive blow for the extension. In the 64', a deflected shot from the Dutchman catches Buffon off guard and finds the back of the net, and in the 76', the number 20 repeats the feat with a crisp left-footed strike for the 3-0 lead. Ferrara pulls one back for Juventus in the 82nd minute, but it's too little, too late: AC Milan triumph 1-3 and march towards the Scudetto.
