Tigres Femenil meets Gotham FC to decide first W Champions Cup winner

MIAMI – The 2024/25 Concacaf W Champions Cup Finals concludes with Tigres UANL Femenil and NJ/NY Gotham FC meeting in the championship match on Saturday at the Estadio Universitario in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León, Mexico.
The winner of the Final will become the Confederation’s first-ever women’s club champion. The winning club will also secure a place in the 2026 FIFA Women’s Champions Cup and the 2028 FIFA Women’s Club World Cup.
Gotham FC clinched its spot in the first W Champions Cup final with a 3-1 victory against Club América Femenil on Wednesday. Geyse struck off a corner kick and Midge Purce converted from the penalty spot to place the U.S. side off to a winning start. Esther González, the leading scorer in the 2025 NWSL season, helped create an own goal for the third goal in favor of The Bats.
The 2023 NWSL Champions are one victory away from adding another important trophy to its cabinet. With other key players like Emily Sonett and Mandy Freeman, Juan Carlos Amoros’ side will seek to become the first club to lift the first women’s club champion of Concacaf.
Managed by Pedro Martínez Losa, Tigres UANL Femenil will also strive for the historic place in the podium. The record six-time Liga MX Femenil winners won 2-nil against Portland Thorns FC in the Semifinals with goals from Aaliyah Farmer and Thembi Kgatlana. Goalkeeper Itzel González collected the clean sheet for Las Amazonas.
One of the highlights of the game for Tigres Femenil was its Game-Changer Jaqueline Ovalle, who earned an assist in her return from injury. Jenni Hermoso and Stephany Mayor will also be players to watch as the home side seeks to make additional history inside the friendly confines of El Volcán.
