Kieran Tierney has revealed he has been getting tips on his new Arsenal role from his Scottish national teammate, Greg Taylor.

With Mikel Arteta and Arsenal now deploying inverted wingbacks, Kieran Tierney has admitted to gleaning tips from his good friend, Celtic’s Greg Taylor.

Speaking to the media, Tierney said, “He’s been brilliant, inverted full-back, and that’s how we are playing down there, so I’m watching him every week trying to take tips from him.

“And it’s been brilliant to see him doing well because he’s a great guy. I’m really close to him, I speak to him a lot, so I’m buzzing for him.

“We watch each other’s games and always text each other after games.

“It’s a new role for me and a role he is really comfortable in.

“It’s great to watch him, he has been one of Celtic’s best players this season.

“Greg’s attitude is brilliant and I’m delighted to see him doing so well, a great guy who deserves all the credit he is getting just now.”

Tierney played 86 minutes for Scotland in their 3-0 win over Ukraine in the UEFA Nations League.

Scotland’s next game is against the Republic of Ireland on Saturday 24 September with a 7.45pm kick-off when we can expect Tierney to be used for most of the match, once again, despite his injury problems.

Tierney has missed 48 games for Arsenal since he signed from Celtic in 2019, which is already six more than he missed through injury in Glasgow over five years.
